Why 100% Pasture Raised Meats Are Better

We are committed to raising the best pasture raised meats, period. We hold high standards in providing 100% grass-fed beef. As a 'Certified' American Grass-fed beef producer we look forward to partnering with you in your journey to finding pastured raised beef that tastes great and is healthier for you. After all, we are what we eat! Here are benefits to eating grass-fed over grain-fed beef.

100% Grass-fed Beef vs. Grain/Grass Finished Beef

There are many key differences between 100% grass-fed verses grain finished beef. 100% grass-fed beef tends to be leaner and juicer thanks to its higher moisture content. Additionally, it’s been found to be lower in total fat, which translates to fewer calories (as little as 140 calories per serving) for those of you counting. Research shows that lean beef actually lowers your “bad” LDL cholesterol levels. 100% grass-fed beef is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B6 & Beta-Carotene. Omega-3’s are much higher in 100% pastured raised animals and are essentially the unsung hero helping every cell in your body. Omega 3’s offer several valuable health benefits. They are known to be good for your heart, help lower blood pressure, be essential for brain health, and helps reduce cancer risk.

100% Grass-Fed Beef

Animals are fed only grass and forage from weaning until harvest. They are raised on pasture without confinement to feedlots and are never treated with antibiotics or growth hormones or fed grains.  All animals are born and raised in the heart of Texas on BSAK Ranch.

Grain-Fed Cattle (Confined to Feedlot)

Grain-Fed beef

Grain-fed beef tends to be more greasy as opposed to juicy. Often these cattle are “fattened up” on a variety of grain or corn by-products resulting in high fructose. Regular consumption of grain fed beef is not recommended as part of a healthy diet. Lastly, grain-fed beef is higher in cholesterol than grass-fed beef.
